A Security Engineer’s journey from frustration to mastering the Claude Code AI Model.
Hello Everyone! 👋 I am Aakash, and after a very, long time, I am back to updating my blog.
In today’s AI Era, everyone is using AI models, learning constantly, and witnessing new things every day. Seeing this rapid shift, I decided to start a brand new blog post series dedicated to a specific AI model: Claude Code. 🤖
Let me be honest, this blog post comes from a user (me) who has felt very frustrated while using it. And I know I am not alone; many of you feel the same way! 😤
Because of that frustration, I decided to change my approach completely.
Instead of struggling, I started dissecting it, which led to the creation of this Claude Code Mastering blog post series. 🚀
This specific post serves as the Introduction to the series. Throughout this journey, I will share everything about using Claude Code ->
from its absolute foundations to utilizing it in multiple ways, all from a Security Engineer’s perspective. 🔐
So, let me start with the most important question:
🎯 Why I started this blog series?
I use AI models a lot for my own purposes, and Claude Code is one of the tools I rely on the most.
However, since the rapid rise of AI models, I’ve noticed a troubling trend: users are becoming addicted to a “Builder Mindset” instead of actually learning.
And honestly, I am one of them. My productivity, my learning habits, and many other things have completely changed - in both positive and negative ways. 📉📈
🛑 The Major Problem: Fixing the AI Instead of Doing the Work
The core issue I faced when using AI models is that my original goal - what I actually wanted to do - quickly shifted into fixing the AI model.
A huge chunk of your time gets wasted trying to course-correct the AI to match your desired outcome. Before you know it, you’ve become a “Builder” (debugging the tool) instead of being a “User” (using the tool to build your project). You are just constantly fixing the AI! 🛠️
Because so much time gets wasted, you eventually sit back and analyze:
- What did I exactly do?
- Was my goal completed?
- Did I actually learn what I wanted to learn by using the AI model?
The answer is often a resounding HELL NO! 🚫 And there are many reasons for this.
NOTE: I am sharing my own perspective and what I see as a common problem for most users. Of course, this depends heavily on the individual user’s approach.
😤 The Result: Total Frustration
The result? I became incredibly frustrated because the AI model simply wasn’t doing exactly what I wanted it to do.
But is it entirely the AI model’s fault? NOT COMPLETELY.
The truth is, both are the culprit - the AI model AND us. 🤝
That is exactly why I started this blog post series: to solve this fundamental problem for myself and for everyone else facing the same struggle.
💡 So what changed my mind?
It all shifted during a conversation with my best and closest friend. I explained my frustration, and he gave me a piece of advice that completely flipped my perspective:
“Treat the AI model like a child. It does exactly what you tell it to do. It doesn’t use its own human logic; it blindly follows your instructions. If you want something specific from an AI, you have to train it smartly. First, become extremely good with just one AI model.”🧠
This single piece of advice changed everything for me.
I realized that instead of blindly ordering the AI around - and then wasting hours fixing its mistakes - I needed to step back. I needed to first completely understand the AI model I was using.
And that is exactly why I decided to dive deep and do thorough research on my favorite AI model: Claude Code. 🕵️♂️
👥 Who is this series for?
If you are a Developer, Security Engineer, or Bug Hunter who wants to use AI to speed up your work - but instead finds yourself wasting time fixing the AI’s bugs - this series is exactly for you.
📜 The Golden Rule of This Series
Since we are shifting from a “Builder” to a “User” mindset, we will follow one strict rule throughout this journey:
The AI does not create the logic; WE create the logic. The AI simply executes it. We dictate the rules, and the AI writes the code.
🚀 What to Expect from This Series?
This blog series will document my entire research and learning journey. We won’t be talking about generic “copy-paste prompts.” Instead, we will look at this systematically, heavily inspired by a Security Engineer’s mindset:
- Understanding the ‘Engine’: How Claude Code processes context and why it makes certain mistakes.
- Smart Conditioning: How to set up rules and boundaries so the AI behaves exactly how you want before you give it a task.
- Building Real Projects (Security & Bug Hunting): We won’t just learn theory! We will actively build and automate things with Claude Code, specifically tailored for Security Engineers and Bug Bounty Hunters. 💻🛡️
- Reclaiming Your Time: Techniques to ensure you remain the ‘User’ who builds things, rather than the ‘Fixer’ who just debugs the AI.
If you are tired of wrestling with AI models and want them to start working for you instead of against you, you are in the right place.
Stay tuned for Part 2, where we will tear down the absolute basics and look under the hood of Claude Code! 🔥
